Domain verification methods
Certum provides three domain verification methods that can be selected during the certificate activation process:
- Verification of the e-mail address by clicking the verification link, which will be sent by Certum to the domain administrator’s e-mail address (e.g.: admin@yourdomain.eu, administrator@yourdomain.eu, webmaster@yourdomain.eu, postmaster@yourdomain.eu, hostmaster@yourdomain.eu),
- Verification of the access to the domain by placing on the server a file with the name and content that you will receive from Certum (Note: This method is not available for Wildcard certificates). Find out more here.
- Verification of the access to the domain by creating an appropriate TXT record in the DNS with the content that you will receive from Certum.
- Verification of the access to the domain by creating an appropriate CNAME record in the DNS with the content that you will receive from Certum.
- Verification of the access to the domain by creating an appropriate TXT record in the DNS for the domain prefixed with “_certum” label, with the content that you will receive from Certum.
- Verification of the access to the domain by creating an appropriate CNAME record in the DNS for the domain prefixed with “_certum” label, with the content that you will receive from Certum.
