Renew a Signature

Signing a PDF File using a Certum e-Signature with card and reader (QES)

  1. On the CertumSign platform, you can easily and quickly sign an uploaded or received PDF document. You can choose between:
    • a qualified electronic signature on a Certum cryptographic card
  2. Before signing, make sure that:
    • You have connected your card and reader to your computer
    • You have the proCertum CardManager software or software provided by another supplier
    • The qualified certificate is registered on your device
  3. Log in to your CertumSign account at sign.certum.pl and select the document to sign. A window displaying the document’s content will appear
  4. In the Signature Method section (on the right side), you will see the name of the selected e-signature method.  In the case of a card signature, it is a Card/Certificate. If you want to switch to a card signature, click Change. From the list select I have an electronic signature kit.
  5. Click Sign. You can choose a location within the document to visualize the signature
  6. On the next screen, you will see a message about launching the Certum Sign Service application. If you do not have Certum Sign Service yet:
    • Download the Certum Sign Service application for Windows
    • Download the Certum Sign Service application for macOS

  7. A pop-up window will appear in your browser. Allow the startup/creation of Certum SignService:
    • In Google Chrome it is the Open Certum SignService button.
    • In Safari it is the Allow button
  8. Then a list of certificates will appear. If the certificate with which you want to sign the document is not selected, click its name, then a drop-down list will appear with other certificates registered in the device’s certificate store.
    In the qualified certificate information, you will see:

    • full name;
    • certificate number;
    • expiry date;
    • certificate status.
    • To proceed with the signing, select – Confirm
  9. Enter the PIN assigned when installing the certificate. If the code is correct, you will receive a message that the file has been signed. Done!
